Question 1: What is the Pythagorean Theorem?This album is powered by BubbleShare - Add to my blog
Question 2: How do you find the surface area of a right rectangular prism?
First off, a right rectangular prism has 6 faces (and the faces that are opposite of each other are of the same measurements). The surface area is simply the sum of the six sides. To find the surface of a rectangular prism you must follow the following formula: 2(l.w) + 2(l.h) + 2(w.h). And that's about it!
l = length
w = width
And, you better believe me when I tell you that examples of rectangular prisms are in fact, microwave ovens and CD cases. Imagine life without them! We better be thankful for our ingenious inventions that have taken the shape of a 3D rectangles!For more help on surface area, check out this website!

Question 3: How do you find the surface area of a right cylinder?
I'm just going to throw it out there; a cylinder can come in all shapes in sizes (short, tall, skinny, wide) but the way of calculating the surface area is always the same for a right cylinder.2 x π x r x r + 2 x π x r x h
With 'r' equaling radius, 'h' equaling hight and π equaling 3.14
Below is my fabulous net and right cylinder diagram that has been prepared for you on gliffy! Please view it; it is very attractive and accurate!

PLEASE NOTICE: Soup tins and batteries are perfect examples of cylinders. Although, the battery is a little deformed at each end, you get the idea. (: Question 4: What is a polygon and how do we classify one?
A polygon is classified as a closed figure with three or more straight sides. A name of a particular polygon is determined by the number of sides it has.
A regular polygon is classified by equal sides and same angles. An irregular polygon is classified by unequal angles and sides. (It would be the exact opposite of a regular Polygon!)Figure one, (above), shows regular polygons in purple and irregular in yellow.
*** And remember, a polygon is always a polygon no matter how many sides it has! As long as the lines are straight and in the end, the figure is closed! (:
