Question 1: What is the Pythagorean Theorem?
The Pythagorean theorem is that the altitude squared of a triangle plus the base squared will equal the triangles hypotenuse squared.

ex: a squared + b squared = c squared
13 squared + 14 squared = c squared
169 + 196 = c squared
365( square route) = c squared (square route)

ex 2: c2 - b2 = a2

Question 2: How do you find the surface area of a right rectangular prism?
A rectangular prism is any 3D object that's sides are all quadrilaterals.


2(7x4) + 2(7x5) + 2(5x4)=sa
56+ 70 + 40 =sa
166=sa






Question 3: How do you find the surface area of a right cylinder?

A right cylinder is a 3 dimensional shape that has two circles attached together by a tube.

SA= 2 pi r2 + 2 pi r h
SA= 2 pi 22 + 2 pi 2x7
SA= 113.10cm

Question 4: What is a polygon and how do we classify one?
A polygon is any closed 2 dimensional shape that has at least 3 sides that are all straight lines. A regular polygon is a polygon that has all of the sides the same length and all of the same angles. An irregular polygon is one that has different side lengths or angles. A polygon is classified by the amount of sides that it has (eg: a triangle has 3 sides, a quadrilateral has 4, a pentagon has 5 etc.).
